Andrew focuses on speech and intellectual property matters, with an additional emphasis in entertainment law and music rights.
Andrew Keyes counsels clients in e-commerce, intellectual property, speech, and entertainment law matters. He is thoroughly familiar with the nuts and bolts of state and federal litigation, from drafting complaints to preparing and opposing dispositive motions. On behalf of plaintiffs, Andrew has recovered sums of up to six figures and secured speedy injunctive relief. For his defendant clients, Andrew has headed off meritless litigation with successful anti-SLAPP motions, motions to dismiss, and early resolutions.
With a deep background in music and entertainment law, Andrew zealously advocates for his clients, whether that client is a start-up record label or a household name rock star. Whether he is litigating a breach of contract action or negotiating a rights acquisition deal, Andrew guides his clients with both legal rigor and industry savvy.
Before his legal career, Andrew worked in the recording and music publishing industries alongside Grammy-nominated artists with several RIAA Gold and Platinum plaques. Andrew has been a member of multiple industry trade groups, and continues to maintain a close relationship with the independent label and publisher community.
My passion is using my lawyering skills to bring together the entertainment industry and the tech sector.
The scope of Andrew’s transactional legal work includes license agreements, sample clearance agreements, and corporate acquisition agreements.
Prior to joining Kronenberger Rosenfeld, Andrew worked as an associate at several Los Angeles-area litigation firms. One of Andrew’s particular areas of expertise is trademark and brand enforcement in the digital space. He has been responsible for sweeping takedown campaigns regarding unlicensed NFTs and counterfeit supplements. He is also particularly adept at assisting trademark owners in reclaiming infringing domain names through the expedited UDRP arbitration process.
There's nothing I love more than explaining a deeply confusing I.P. law issue to a client.
Andrew earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, and during his time there he interned with major film, television, and media companies. Andrew was also a board member of both Loyola’s Entertainment and Sports Law Society (ESLS) and Intellectual Property and Cybersecurity Law Society (IPCLS).
