Jeff represents clients in disputes involving intellectual property, speech, and advertising.

Jeff also regularly defends consumer class actions alleging unfair competition and false advertising regarding websites, emails, and e-commerce platforms. In particular, Jeff’s practice focuses on the following types of cases:

• Copyright and Trademark Infringement: Jeff regularly represents both defendants and plaintiffs in copyright and trademark infringement and registration lawsuits involving website content, digital products, and online advertisements.
• Online Defamation: Jeff has extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in defamation cases involving online content, including anonymously-published content. Jeff has litigated all aspects of online defamation matters from anti-SLAPP through trial, and he has worked with clients and experts to quantify both economic and non-economic damages in such cases.
• False Advertising on the Internet: Jeff’s clients are primarily online retailers of everyday products and services, such as dietary supplements, office supplies, recreational products, home electronics, and car rental services. Jeff represents these clients when their competitors make false statements in advertisements, or when Jeff’s clients are accused of making false statements about their own products and services.
• Spam, TCPA, and Telemarketing Defense: Jeff devotes a significant portion of his practice to defending spam, TCPA, and telemarketing litigation, and he has been involved in several precedent-setting cases. Jeff is well-versed in all aspects of the relevant spam and TCPA authority as well as the practical trial and settlement dynamics of spam and TCPA litigation.

Prior to joining Kronenberger Rosenfeld, Jeff was a litigation associate with Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin in San Francisco, and before that, a litigation and data privacy associate with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. Jeff received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and was an editor on the Georgetown Law Journal. He received his A.B. from Stanford University.
