Selling through Amazon Raises Legal Concerns for Entrepreneurs: Legaltech News

Many entrepreneurs may find it profitable to sell through the Amazon Marketplace. As Partner Karl Kronenberger said, “The Amazon Marketplace has grown unbelievably over the last four or five years.” However, there are many legal issues to consider, including protecting your intellectual property within the Amazon Marketplace, the threat of so-called ASIN hijacking, and requirements of the Federal Trade Commission. Legaltech News turned to Mr. Kronenberger to explain possible solutions to these concerns.

Mr. Kronenberger suggests that companies and entrepreneurs should take measures that include: ensuring compliance with the FTC’s Endorsement Guidelines; entering into smart agreements with overseas manufacturers; taking precautions so not to infringe on others’ intellectual property, including inadvertently; and registering trademarks and copyrights.
